History:  M/S Årdal was built 1980 in Norway for a Norwegian company and used around Norway for 12 years. She was built to Det Norske Veritas. In 1992 she was bought by The Swedish Navy who kept her in Det Norske Veritas class for two years. Then the Navy changed policy and had their own inspection/class The Swedish Naval Safety Inspectorate.

The vessel was kept to the highest standard and during 2005 she was totally sandblasted and painted at a cost of Euro 400.000. 2007 – 2008 Main Engine and Generators was totally renovated at a cost of Euro 800.000. Same time the Main Electric Switch

2009 Special Survey is done and all new electronics on bridge.

Class status: Special Survey with dry docking carried out in June - July 2009.Special Survey finished mid August 2009.
